Hace varios años, aprender Inglés era una tarea algo aburrida y monótona. La instruccion se basaba primordialmente en la enseñanza dentro de un aula y utilizando libros de texto. Se contaba con grabadoras y videocasseteras como medios de ayuda audiovisual. Ahora, contamos con mas herramientas tecnológicas para hacer del aprendizaje de un idioma algo mas divertido y accesible. La multimedia y el internet han revolucionado la manera de aprender un idioma. se puede trabajar casi todas las habilidades como lo son la comprensión auditiva, gramática y vocabulario y esto ayuda mucho a que los estudiantes aprendan y refuercen lo aprendido en clase. algunos ejemplos podrian ser los siguientes:
